An Automated Life

It’s often what I think the mode of busy-ness had to offer us. It says, “let’s pre-program our lives, let’s live in routine, let’s auto-pilot through the smallest and often most-important moments in our days….” Our interactions with strangers. A walk in your neighborhood. The setting sun. A meal that turns from lingering to foraging and is hardly tasted.

I for one, don’t want to miss those things. And there is nothing like the first weekend at the lake of the summer season, celebrating the twenty-seventh birthday of the single human being whose life is entirely tied to my own now – irrevocably, and a week spent predominately with tiny new-to-the-world humans to put it all into perspective. To put a week (almost) without blogging into a new category of “So what?”

Life goes on… un-automated.

p.s. I love tiny, new-to-the-world humans.
