Most of you have seen the difference.
That said, a post like this isn’t exactly necessary for the masses. Mostly because announcing changes to my web presence can be redundant; the look alone makes the statement. Right? Right. Except for multiple reasons, I need to document this here and I need to give credit where credit is due. Because it is due in places that lie outside of the hours I spent at my computer, pouring my heart into the re-design of both my website:

and this blog:

I have been using a version of a Showit site for two years now, and this is my third – likely final (at least on this scale) revision – and it was an all or nothing revision. One I’m infinitely proud of, because frankly, this is more true to who I am, what I offer, and whom I hope to serve than any site previous. Some of you might remember the days of the moody, black, white and green branding I started out with – focusing on a “People, Places, Things”… or the most recent minimalist open book theme. As you may see, the most recent revision simply stemmed off of that prior minimalism, but with a hope for pushing out the sterile and simply translating comfort… ease… naturalness… and… me.
This journey, for me, required time with an open notebook, a pencil, and the willingness to try a few things I’ve always thought would and should work for me. From the ground up, I designed this site with my client connection in mind and I’ve been awed by the response, already.
I’m so grateful for the following, without which much of this wouldn’t have been possible:
::The belief and ideas of my husband Cliff…
::The consultation (and incredible photos!!) by my dear friend Evin…
::The virtual high-fives from great friends whose input I highly value like Molly…
::The feedback from professionals I was honored to hear from like Dawn and Anna…
::The freedom offered by Showit Sites…
::The design foundation offered freely in Showit’s stylegroups, as designed by Promise…
::The incredible customization opportunities, which have been proved again and again, of ProPhoto blogs…
I’ll continue work on developing my Fine Art site, which I hope to launch by the end of April. Can’t wait for you to see it!
As always, thanks for being a part of the journey.
