Beaming was the word of the day. The sun, their smiles, and the joy everyone shared with Maria and Ben as they spent a beautiful day in Charleston beginning and then celebrating their new journey as Mr. and Mrs. They couldn’t have selected a more picturesque location, and these two had worked tirelessly over the last seven months or so since their December engagement to make the experience a lovely one for everyone involved. Their efforts, combined with the ceaseless love and adoration they have for each other, made the day absolutely incredible – and I can certainly vouch for that as both friend and photographer.
Anyone who knows these two could imagine the day never had its shortage of laughter or joy. Even in the sweltering heat of a summer day in Charleston, the spirits of the day were lifted entirely in the presence of such a stunning bride and groom. Nor, was it short of emotion. I wish everyone in the world could have seen, in the moments Maria walked down the aisle with her father, the exchange between Ben and his bride to be. The tears and huge grins, the elation at it all finally coming together – not just a plan for a day – but a dream for a lifetime. Finding the one you were meant to spend forever with, in the unlikeliest of situations, and seeing it progress and unfold before you in this way… discovering your better you in the arms, the eyes, and the heart of a person only God could have made so perfectly for you.
I am thrilled to have been there, not just as their photographer, but as someone who has known Maria just long enough to see this entire puzzle fitted together in that length of time and as someone who has come to love Ben for her and with her and through her. Maria and Ben, Cliff and I are so grateful to call you our friends and I couldn’t even begin to thank you enough for the joy of documenting one of the most important days in your lives yet. We love you and look forward to sharing more of life with you as married friends!
